About Us

The Property

Flying Horse Ranch in Douglas County is one of the finest cattle & equestrian ranches in the Front Range of Colorado. Everything on the ranch, from its 1,400 acres of rolling mountain grasslands to its 39,000-square-foot indoor riding arena, points to a property custom made for events in the form of weddings, corporate gatherings, equestrian events or cattle sales.

Those looking for a scenic Front Range location for their next special event should put Flying Horse Ranch at the top of their “must-see” list.

The specific purpose of the Easement is to assure that the property will be retained forever predominantly in its natural, scenic, and open space condition, to preserve and protect in perpetuity the wildlife, aesthetic, ecological, environmental and agricultural values and characteristics of the property.

Meet Our Team

Megan Riviezzo

Venue Operations

Megan is happy to assist clients in transforming the Venue at Flying Horse Ranch into their dream event space. Connecting clients with the right vendors for their event, and ensure that planning an event at The Venue is a breeze.

Megan was thrilled to open the Venue division of Flying Horse Ranch in 2015. As the Venue was transformed from a private residence to a 5-star Event Space the privilege of being apart of such a special project was unlike any other. She described it as “just knowing how many wonderful people would enjoy this space was overwhelming in the best way”. Megan said, “Watching the Venue transform from an idea to a space that
allows thousands of guests and clients to enjoy this one of a kind experience has been a dream come true.”

Megan and her family relocated from Florida to the beautiful state of Colorado in the summer of 2013 to further her event planning career. With experience in many areas of hospitality including, restaurant and event management, wedding planning, corporate event coordination, and launching other event divisions, Megan felt the Venue at Flying Horse Ranch was the perfect next step in her career. The Venue has been her most rewarding project, and in her exact words, “every moment spent here has been a joy and learning experience, and I can’t ask for anything more professionally rewarding than that!”

When Megan has free time she spends it hanging out with her Husband, 10-year-old son Gunner, and 3-year-old daughter Archer, and of course, Sarge the German Shepherd as well as their two Goldendoodles, Bean and Pixie!

Michelle Hagood

Day of Coordinator

Michelle is happy to assist couples in making every detail of their event come together, preparing The Venue so it is exquisite and welcoming for each guest, and ensuring that each detail is perfectly executed.

Michelle is one of the two Lead Coordinators at Flying Horse Ranch.

Born and raised in Colorado Springs, she has coordinated events across the United States, as well as Germany and Singapore. With five years of experience, she came to Flying Horse Ranch at the beginning of 2017 to step into her dream job. In her first year at the Venue, she was a part of 40 different couple’s happily ever after and had a blast coordinating each one.

For Michelle, the best part of wedding day is managing every detail, no matter how small, from setup to send off so each couple can thoroughly enjoy their special day. Hearing the vision and then seeing it all come together is magic.

One of our favorite Michelle quotes is “I love, love” and she truly does.

Michelle is not only a spectacular wedding coordinator, she has other talents as well! When Michelle isn’t at the Venue, she’s working on some sort of amazing art project (ask her to see her drawing of the ranch buildings), making edits on her novel, and always drinking hot chocolate, no matter the season.

Nature & Architecture

Water is plentiful on the ranch, including the seasonal flow of Iron Gulch, the spring-fed Crowfoot Creek and three windmills, four wells and ten stock ponds. The magnificent setting of the ranch is complemented by equally magnificent improvements.

The impressive Venue was designed by Michael Barber Architecture, an award-winning Denver firm, and is in the Plains Victorian style. Its 14,000-square feet include an impressive Great Room with gas fireplace, complete bridal suite, formal buffet room, ballroom, gourmet kitchen, and an eight-sided, two-story breakfast nook. This remarkable Venue also includes a large grooms’ quarters with wet bar, full guest suite and two additional guest bedrooms, each with a separate bath.

First-rate equestrian facilities put Flying Horse Ranch into a league of its own. A 245×160-foot indoor riding arena is the centerpiece of the Flying Horse Ranch’s equestrian improvements.

Completed in 2004, it includes a dirt/sand surface, elevated announcer’s booth with sound system, natural gas heaters, LED lighting and abundant windows for natural lighting. Connected to the riding arena is a 120×60-foot extension housing offices, restrooms, kitchen and an auction/sale ring. This facility is tailor-made for horse events or sales in first-class fashion.

The indoor riding arena is also utilized by the Flying Horse Foundation. The Flying Horse Foundation is a private charitable organization designed to advance the emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of local families, children and the elderly. Additional horse facilities include a training round pen and outdoor roping arena. The ranch is also well-equipped to handle cattle, with a cow barn that includes a vet room and show area. A hay barn, grain shed and equipment shed completes the long list of outstanding improvements on the ranch.
