Bloom it Forward.

Bloom it Forward.

You know how when you are on a diet, there isn’t anything you want more than a piece of cake?

That’s how we are feeling about weddings right now.

The sheer fact that we can’t have them, makes us want to celebrate love more than ever before. I mean don’t get me wrong, we loved our jobs before, like REALLY loved our job, but now it’s like our hearts ache. If we don’t see someone walk down the aisle and marry their best friend soon, it’s going to get ugly. Just kidding. I think ;)

Every year we get to see new wedding trends at the Venue, and it’s fun! We are talking about anything from a new color palette to a beverage burro. The personalized aspects of the wedding day give us all the heart eyes.

However, this post isn’t about just any trend its about our very favorite wedding trend. It’s a trend that will never go out of style, and will be appreciated by so many…  so get ready to add this to your wedding planning binder,  because the best trend of all is the heart to give back. I can’t even tell you the overwhelming feeling of gratitude we have when one of our clients decides that on a day that is justifiably all about them, they search for a way to benefit those who are less fortunate.

Privè Events and Flying Horse Ranch had worked weddings together before, but this one included a late-night, standing in the Venue kitchen dreaming up ideas. Our industry is so connected, there is this camaraderie that exists and this drive to make the world a better place. Which honestly makes sense, we spend the majority of our lives celebrating love and we want everyone to have it!

The problem we were determined to find a solution for is our clients are making this investment (which is a 100% worth it) to enjoy these fresh-cut, stunning floral arrangements (swoon, because floral is the design aspect of the wedding day I look forward to the most!). However, after “I do” is said, the last dance is complete, and that sparkler exit was perfectly captured… families struggle to take the floral arrangements home. There aren’t vases to put them in, or they already have a car full of leftovers and gifts, and the bride and groom are headed out for their honeymoon (all completely valid reasons!), so more often than not this stunning arrangement (or 20) are headed to the dumpster.

Cue Bloom It Forward.

What if the couples at Flying Horse Ranch had an option to donate their floral to The Flying Horse Foundation? Which provides equine-assisted learning to underserved Foster Children and Seniors in our local community.

What if every wedding that Privé Events provided floral for, they would also send their team back to the Venue and repurpose the flowers at no additional cost so you can pass joy and love to our community?

One passionate conversation and lunch changed from “what if” to “lets do it”.

We are so proud to collaborate with Brittany and Briana from Privè Events. We are in awe of their heart to impact our local community with beauty.

Want to get to know a bit about their team? Here’s a little Q&A.

What inspired you to partner with Flying Horse Ranch and create Bloom it Forward?

We have been doing wedding flowers for years.  Many times the client does not want to keep their flowers after the wedding, they are off to their honeymoon and have no use for 20 centerpieces.   After years of watching flowers end up in the trash after weddings/events, we decided something had to be done.  We had a brainstorming session with Megan at Flying Horse and came up with this amazing idea.  This program will help prevent waste and spread joy to those less fortunate, it’s the perfect way for us to help others give back.

How did you get started in the industry?

We started 9 years ago as planners only.  After a year in the business, we noticed a lot of our clients had a hard time finding a florist that they liked and who worked well with their budget.  We decided to add a basic floral service to help our clients get beautiful flowers at a reasonable price. From there, our love for flowers grew.  Each year, our skills became more advanced and we began offering more design options. We now have the capabilities to do large, extravagant designs, but still have great options for small budgets.  We will always keep our flower minimum low because we don’t want to forget why we started floral design in the first place.

What is your favorite thing about the wedding day?

The ceremony, there is nothing better than watching your clients officially become a married couple!  Aside from that,  we absolutely love it when everything is finally set up and ready to go!   We always take a moment to soak in the beauty and admire how the work of all the individual vendors came together to make one stunning event! After days of prepping and working so hard on an event, this is one of the best feelings ever!

If you had one floral tip for brides, what would it be?

I always like to remind our couples to repurpose their wedding flowers.  Not only to save money but to produce less waste!  The gorgeous arbor arrangement can but cut down and placed on the fireplace mantel to create another statement piece.  After photos, the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets can be placed in vases and set on the gift table, cake table or even use them as centerpieces for some of the dinner tables. There are so many creative ways to reuse and get the most out of your wedding flowers, always try to think outside the box when planning your wedding decor.

Unfortunately, at this time we are not providing tours of our ranch.
